Hydraulics

That is me (the guy with the necktie), showing students from the Universidad de Piura how a river intake works, using a physical scale model at the Hydraulics Institute in Piura, Peru. This is part of formal undergraduate training in hydraulic structures (e.g. dams, river intakes, sand traps, hydropower plants, etc.). Recently, also numerical hydraulic modeling is been slowly introduced into undergrad courses.
